How much does Italian furniture cost bought directly from the factory
When you buy Italian furniture directly from the factory, the price is made of three numbers: the factory list price, the discount the factory gives to buyers, and our commission. Below are six worked examples from current 2026 price lists: Baxter, Minotti, Ditre Italia, Cattelan Italia, Bontempi and Masiero. Every photo is clickable and opens a large picture with the full calculation for the model in several covers or sizes.
How to read the prices. All amounts are in euros, excluding VAT and delivery, rounded to the euro. “List price” is the retail price from the factory price list. “After discount” is the list price minus the factory discount. “Total” is the discounted price plus the 5% Mebeltour commission.
The direct-purchase formula
An Italian factory publishes a price list with recommended retail prices. Showrooms sell at those prices and buy from the factory for less; the difference is their income. When we order directly from the factory, that difference stays with the client, and our earnings are limited to a fixed commission.
- Take the factory list price for the model in the size and cover you need.
- Subtract the factory discount. Our working table covers 94 factories with discounts from 30 to 55%: 36 factories give 50%, 23 give 45%, 19 give 40% and 10 give 30%.
- Add the Mebeltour commission: 5% if your list of models is ready, 10% if we select the furniture from scratch.
- VAT and delivery are calculated separately.
The commission is charged on the amount after the discount. A sofa with a 10,000 € list price and a 50% factory discount costs 5,000 €, and our commission on it is 250 €. That gives a quick rule of thumb: with a 40% discount you pay 63% of the list price, with a 50% discount you pay 52.5%.
Six calculations from 2026 price lists
Baxter Chester Moon: 40% discount
Paola Navone designed Chester Moon for Baxter as a reworked chesterfield. The capitonné runs over every surface of the sofa and is done by hand, which is why Chester Moon is made only in soft leathers, with no fabric versions.
Baxter’s price list dated 23 September 2026 offers the sofa in six lengths, from 195 to 395 cm. For the calculation we take the 255 cm sofa in the most accessible TB leather: 15,145 €. The Baxter discount for buyers is 40%. After the discount it is 9,087 €, with the commission 9,541 €. The 195 cm sofa in the same leather is 11,600 € at list and 7,308 € in total.
Some factories give less: Flou, Giorgetti, Porada and Armani Casa give 30%, and with them a direct purchase saves roughly a quarter of the list price. That is why it helps to know the discount of the specific factory before comparing offers.
Minotti Prince: 40% discount
The Prince armchair was designed by Rodolfo Dordoni. The base of the armchair and footstool is metal, lacquered in sand, pewter or black, or brushed and finished with a clear coat.
The 89 cm armchair in fabric category E lists at 4,000 € with Minotti. The Minotti discount is 40%: 2,400 €. With the commission, 2,520 €.
In Pelle leather the armchair lists at 5,215 €, total 3,285 €. The 73 cm footstool lists at 1,880 € in fabric and 2,435 € in Pelle leather, total 1,184 € and 1,534 €.
Ditre Italia St. Germain: 50% discount
Ditre Italia makes St. Germain in four lengths: a 197 cm two-seater and three-seaters of 219, 241 and 273 cm, all 104 cm deep. In leather it looks more formal, in fabric softer, and the price difference between the two is noticeable.
The 219 cm three-seater in Soft leather costs 4,695 € on the 2026 price list. Ditre gives buyers 50%: 2,348 €, with the commission 2,465 €. In fabric category A the list price is 3,434 €, total 1,803 €.
This example shows how a 50% discount works in practice: even with our commission the client pays just over half of the list price. Factories with this discount are the largest group in our table, among them Ditre Italia, Tonin Casa, Alberta, Kartell and Aran Cucine.
Cattelan Italia Gordon: 40% discount
Giorgio Cattelan designed the Gordon table in 2016. The steel-rod base is painted titanium, graphite, white or black, and the top is glass. The round table comes in 140, 160 and 180 cm diameters.
On the 2026 price list the round Gordon ø140 costs 2,342 €, ø160 costs 2,633 € and ø180 costs 3,036 €. The Cattelan discount is 40%, so with our commission the totals are 1,475 €, 1,659 € and 1,913 €.

Bontempi Aida: 40% discount
The Aida chair was designed by Piero De Longhi. The frame is lacquered steel, the seat and tall back are fully upholstered, and the chair measures 48×57 cm with a height of 103 cm.
With chairs the price spread within one model is especially wide. On the Bontempi 2026 price list Aida costs 416 € in Premium Eco Leather, 610 € in Supreme Velvet and 679 € in Premium nappa leather. With the 40% discount and our commission that is 262 €, 384 € and 428 €.
Six chairs in eco leather cost 2,496 € at list and 1,572 € in total. Six chairs in velvet: 3,660 € and 2,306 €.
Masiero Nappe: 45% discount
Nappe by Masiero is a family of pendant lights with integrated LEDs in several diameters and heights. The Masiero 2026 price list is without VAT.
The Nappe XL2 pendant, 35 cm in diameter and 135 cm high, costs 1,520 €. After the 45% discount it is 836 €, with the commission 878 €. Nappe XL1 is 1,170 € at list and 676 € in total.

The spread from 37 to 47% comes entirely from the factory discount, because our commission is the same everywhere. So “how much does Italian furniture cost direct from the factory” has no precise answer without the factory name, and with the factory name and a line from its price list it takes a minute to calculate.
What else to take into account
VAT. All amounts in this article exclude VAT. VAT is calculated separately, according to the rules of the destination country.
Delivery. Calculated separately, at actual cost and by order volume. Guidance by country is on our delivery to Europe page.
Lead times. According to our table, the average delivery time is 3–4 weeks for Cattelan Italia and Bontempi, 4–5 weeks for Ditre Italia, 5–6 weeks for Minotti and about 6 weeks for Baxter.
Changes to a model. A non-standard size or finish costs extra and is priced according to the factory’s own rules.
How to check a quote
- Ask for the name and date of the price list. For example, the Baxter list is dated 23 September 2026.
- Check whether the list price includes VAT.
- Check the cover category. The Minotti Prince armchair costs 4,000 € in fabric E and 5,780 € in Pelle Nature leather, 45% more for the same model.
- Make sure the factory issues the invoice in your name and the commission is a separate line.

Why do factories give different discounts?
Each factory sets its own discount for buyers. Our table lists 94 factories with discounts from 30 to 55%. The most common figure is 50%, while Flou, Giorgetti, Porada and Armani Casa give 30%.
Is the 5% commission charged on the list price?
No, it is charged on the amount after the factory discount. If your list of models is ready, the commission is 5%. If we select the furniture from scratch, it is 10%.
Who issues the invoice?
The factory issues the invoice in your name. The Mebeltour commission is a separate line in the calculation.
Are the prices in this article final?
They are calculated from 2026 price lists on the date of publication. The final figure depends on the size, cover and finish of the exact model. We send a precise quote for your list on WhatsApp.
